Denise here, and welcome to my new blog page! I enjoy long walks on the beach but I enjoy the longer walks of Montclair State University's campus. There's nothing like a little doodoo on your shoes and people watching while on campus. Blog at me!

Under the Covers
Dear followers,
Current location: under the covers.
Current dilemma: attempting to finish assignments while my roommate sleeps in our silent, dark room.
Current thoughts: how the hell am I going to do that!?
Luckily my iPad is charged and ready to go! The screen is bright enough to see in the dark but not too bright that it bothers my sleeping roommate. Also the keyboard is completely silent! This is kinda sick and twisted that I can talk about my roommate when she's about 7 feet away... but really it's kind of awesome.
Anyways, on a more were note than the act that I'm under the covers writing a blog I have been doing some app rersearch. I found an app that I fell in love with. It is called My Talk Tools (lite). Even though it is the free demo version, it is a great way to visualize, hear, and practice vocabulary words and even phrases. The creator's son Michael was born with a disability in which he was unable to speak, therefore, his father came up with this free application where teachers and parents can author this tool and customize it to their child's daily life. My favorite part was seeing how I could add a picture, then add text but choose to either record my own voice or turn my text to speech. Amazing! Who knew I could become an author to my on program? I'm so happy I came across this app because it could definitely help me while working as a Speech Pathologist.
My only complaint so far about this iPad is probably the spell check. I'm new with touchscreen and this baby is super sensitive that I can't even spell a two letter word correctly! What a shame.
Well it's getting late so I'm about to knock out in my cozy bed and I look forward to hearing from you all soon!
Yours truly,
Dee at her dorm room :)
