The Never-Ending Text Web

Here is my text web! I thought it would be fun to color code it to see the many different people I reach out to on the regular.

Denise's Text-messaging Web

Within this chart I also included silver dots around the names of users I text. I did this to guesstimate about how many people I assumed they were texting on the regular. Once I analyzed my texting buddies and their texting buddies, I came to the conclusion that I may already be connected to 114 other networks. I have to say that in the bigger picture, all text message users must be connected indiscreetly. This web is VERY small compared to what it should actually look like. Each branch from my name should divide into multiple names that a derived from the network of that individual. For example, I should have begun with my name on the top of the paper and underneath wrote all of the individuals that are in my text messaging web. We'll use Dr. Sotillo as an example! Underneath her name I should have placed down all of the people in her network and connected them to Dr. Sotillo's name. Finally, from there the process would repeat (I believe) forever and leave me with thousands of names that all connected back to myself. Just because I'm messaging about seven or eight people on the regular, those eight people may all have eight other people that they text besides me. This example therefore connects me to 64 other cell users that I may have never met. How scary!! Isn't that weird to think that we are connected to thousands of people we have never met before. Better watch out... you never know who's reading...
