Technology Break

Sorry all it's been quite a while since I've posted but I decided to take a rest from technology for the week of Spring Break. Let me tell you, letting the technology go was the greatest yet oddest experience.
Here's a list of everything I got to do while avoiding mobile technology:
  • I read a book I haven't been able to pick up because of school work
  • I went to the beach and enjoyed the time with friends
  • I rode my bike!
  • I spent St. Patricks Day in NYC with family
  • Best of all, I didn't worry I was going to lose my computer, drop my iPad, or have my iPod stolen.
It was as peaceful as you could imagine but towards the end of the week I began to feel somewhat guilty.  I should have been doing research. I should have been more on top of my e-mails. I felt like I was ignoring the world and was going to get swamped once I went back online. I don't regret taking a break but I feel almost as if I want to avoid my 3 e-mail accounts, not check Blackboard, etc. Ugh. I don't like this feeling!

I challenge you. When you have down time, just take 3 days away from the computer, iPad, ipod, and try to stay away from your phone. How does it feel? Liberating or stressful?

I'm going to go take a mini break from the computer and iPad and grab some lunch. I hope I don't wander too far. I have WAY to much to do online!

  Yours truly,
        Dee
